High-purity water solutions

Deionization (DI) Water Systems

DI equipment and portable tank exchange programs for applications that require reduced ionic contaminants and dependable high-purity water service.

Specialty Treatment

DI Water Matched to the Application

Deionization uses ion-exchange media to reduce charged dissolved substances in water. The appropriate configuration depends on feed-water quality, required product-water quality, flow, total volume, pretreatment, and how consistently the application operates.

El Paso Water Tek provides DI systems, portable DI tank exchange, mixed-bed and polishing DI, pre- and post-filtration, and scheduled exchange programs for commercial and industrial customers.

Why it matters

A Practical, Serviceable Approach

01

Flexible Supply

Portable exchange tanks and installed DI systems provide options for different volumes and operating needs.

02

Quality-Focused Design

Pretreatment, resin configuration, polishing, monitoring, and exchange frequency are considered together.

03

Scheduled Exchange

Exchange programs help facilities plan service before exhausted media affects product-water quality.

What to expect

Our Service Process

  1. Define the Requirement

We review feed water, flow, volume, required quality, operating schedule, and downstream use.

  2. Select the Configuration

Tank size, resin arrangement, pretreatment, polishing, and monitoring are matched to the application.

  3. Exchange & Support

Service intervals are planned around capacity, use, and product-water quality requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about deionization (di)? Start here, then contact our team for advice specific to your water and equipment.

What is portable DI tank exchange?

Portable exchange uses serviceable resin tanks at the customer site. When the resin approaches exhaustion, the tank is exchanged for a regenerated unit rather than regenerated on site.

Is DI water the same as reverse osmosis water?

No. RO uses a membrane to reduce many dissolved substances, while DI uses ion-exchange resin to remove ions. They are often used together when higher-purity water is required.

How often are DI tanks exchanged?

Exchange frequency depends on feed-water quality, tank capacity, flow, total usage, pretreatment, and the product-water quality required by the application.

What applications use polishing DI?

Polishing DI is used after another treatment step when the application needs further ionic reduction. The exact configuration depends on the required water quality and process.
